The Academic Radio Choir's Pinnacle at Hamburg

Monday, 22 October 2012 , ora 9.41

A thunderous round of applauses, sheer joy and great music would describe the success enjoyed by the Romanian Academic Radio Choir, NDR Choir and Hamburger Symphoniker due to the two concerts held on 20th and 21st October, 2012, at the well-known Laeiszhalle in Hamburg. The complex conductor Philippe Jordan led the entire performance of Giuseppe Verdi's Requiem. A sophisticated character of the world's great stages, Philippe Jordan captivated the audience in Hamburg through the dynamism and the energy of a professional artist.

The four soloists Kristin Lewis (soprano), Michaela Schuster (mezzo-soprano), Robert Dean Smith (tenor), Dmitry Ivashchenko (bass) replenished the performance due to their special parts and through a very suggestive and meticulous rendering of every detail in the score.

The Academic Radio Choir - which had been trained by Dan Mihai Goia- was invited to take part in the two concerts held in Hamburg on 20th and 21st October. The concerts were based on Verdi's Requiem and they were conducted by Philippe Jordan. The success enjoyed by the Academic Radio Choir has triggered other possible collaborations with the North German Radio Choir (NDR) and with the Hamburg Symphony Orchestra.
