Nik Bartsch Performed on Stage at the Radio Hall

Friday, 11 May 2012 , ora 9.59

On May 10th, 2012, I have had the pleasure of meeting with Nik Bartsch for the 15th time, but it was for the first time he was together with the band "Ronin". He is for the fifth time in Romania; he has been here before either as a solo artist, or together with his band, but it is his first performance in a larger concert hall and alongside "Ronin". He is the founder of the group and they describe their music genre as being 'contemporary groove music', partly jazz, partly traditional music, even with a pinch of Romanian music as he admits in one of his songs. The songs are called Modules and they are all numbered for Nik Bartsch believes that 'art is a matter of resonance, a spirituality matter, a matter of reaching God in a practical way'.

It has been delightful and the audience was part of an extraordinary experience, for Sha's sax or Björn Meyer bass guitar, Kaspar Rast's drums or Andi Pupato's percussion, together with Nik Bartsch's two pianos were simply out of this world.

Many renowned musicians have taken part in this experience, I have seen them all in the audience and it was as if there was a silent call in the air for yet a new encounter.
