The Radio Chamber Orchestra Starts the New Year with two Unmissable Concerts!

Thursday, 10 January 2013 , ora 9.39

At the beginning of a new year, the Radio Chamber Orchestra invites you all to two special concerts at the Radio Hall. On Wednesday, 16th January, at 19:00, you are being waited for a musical journey among the partitures of some of the most important German and Austrian composers, from Handel, Mozart and Weber to Beethoven and Schubert - an itinerary starting from the Baroque era, crossing the Classical one and ending with the Romantic era. The programme of the evening will include C. M. Weber's Concert for Bassoon and Orchestra in F-Major op. 75, G. Fr. Haendel's Furibondo spira il vento aria from the Partenope opera, Ludwig van Beethoven's Ah perfido! concert aria, Donna Elvira's aria In quali eccessi.../Mi tradi... from W. A Mozart's Don Giovanni opera, and F. Schubert's Symphony No. 3 in D Major.

The Radio Chamber Orchestra will be conducted by Cristian Brâncuși, who has been the founder member of the music ensemble and its conductor, ever since 1990. The two soloists you are going to applaud are the bassoonist Ionuț Roșca, an instrumental artist of the National Radio Orchestra, and the mezzo-soprano of the National Opera of Bucharest, Oana Andra.

On Wednesday, 30th January, at 19:00, you are invited again to the Radio Hall, but this time for an Italian music evening, including Vivaldi's famous Le Quattro Stagioni, but also the Symphony in D Major by Cherubini, a composer that Beethoven considered to be one of his most important contemporaries. The Radio Chamber Orchestra will be conducted by Tiberiu Oprea, the first conductor of the Pitesti Philharmonic, but also a collaborator of the "Ion Dacian"National Operetta Theatre. The concert is held with the participation of the violinist Cristina Anghelescu, a soloist-concertist of the Radio Orchestras and Choirs.
