The Conductor Ion Marin on 'Five-star Concerts' - 14th April

Monday, 14 April 2014 , ora 8.02

For the beginning of this week on 'Five-star Concerts', we recommend the concert of the Orchestra of Italian Switzerland at the Convention Centre in Lugano on 12th December, 2013. One of the greatest contemporary Romanian conductors, Ion Marin, took the stand.

'One must have such a developed critical sense, that right after you have finished the concert, you should be the roughest judge of yourself.' - said conductor Ion Marin in one of his interviews on TVR Culture. Having been convinced by the favourable reviews concerning this concert, we also recommend it.

The programme contains the Violin and Orchestra Concerto No. 2 in C sharp minor, Opus 129 by Dmitri Shostakovich, and Symphony No. 1 in D Minor, Opus 68 by Johannes Brahms.

The soloist of Shostakovich's concert is the violonist Andrei Baranov, concert master of the Camerata de Laussane, winnner of various international competitions, one of them being the Queen Elizabeth Music Competition in Brussels (First Prize in 2012).

If you wish to enjoy a high quality concert, you are invited to tune in to Radio Romania Music on the 'Five-stars Concerts' show, produced by Octavia Galescu and presented to you by Larisa Clempuș, on Monday, 14th April, at 15:30.
