Radio Academic Chorus - live broadcast
Thursday, 26 May 2011 , 19.00

The International New Music Festival is taking place in Bucharest during the last week of May and is dedicated to both instrumental and choral contemporary music.

Therefore, I invite you to the performance held by the Radio Academic Chorus on Thursday, May 26th starting 19:00 under the baton of maestro Dan Mihai Goia on the stage of the largest concert hall of the Romanian Broadcasting Company, namely the Mihail Jora Hall.

The programme includes carefully selected works based on inspiring subjects starting with Adrian Pop´s Hora miresei (The Bride´s Hora), Remus Georgescu´s Pârâuţ cu apă lină (Slow-flowing River) and Nicolae Brâduş´s Ţipurituri, therefore inviting us to enjoy the beauty of the folklore songs.

Religious works such as Cornelia Tăutu´s Triptic,Theodor Grigoriu´s Glasul Domnului (The Voice of the Lord) and Octavian Nemescu´s Salve Regina as well as…a Christmas carol (why not?) - Sabin Păutza´s Velerim şi veler Doamne are also worth mentioning.

The third part of the programme selected by conductor Dan Mihai Goia and the Radio Academic Chorus will bring again into the foreground William Shakespeare whose plays inspired composers Pascal Bentoiu in writing Preludiu la Opera Hamlet and Adrian Enescu, a maestro who managed to capture the essence of the genius in writing Graffiti, a work to be performed in first audition.

Tune in on Radio Romania Music (104,8 and 97,6) or go online to listen to the live broadcast of this concert.
