Friday, 2 December 2011 , 19.00

After almost ten days of recitals and concerts which had well-known Romanian violinists as soloists, the 'Collection Violins' Festival at the Radio Hall will end with an amazing concert of the Radio National Orchestra, which will take place on Friday, the 2nd of December 2011, at 19.00, and which will be dedicated to the National Day of Romania.

At the desk will be conductor Mihnea Ignat, and soloist will be violinist Alexandru Tomescu, with his famous Stradivarius Elder-Voicu violin, built by Antonio Stradivari in 1702. The concert will begin with Rapsodia Română op. 11 nr. 1 în La major by George Enescu, afterwards we will listen to unique sounds of the Stradivarius violin in Violin Concerto in A minor, Op. 53 by Antonin Dvoűák. In the second part of the programme, Symphony No. 1 in C minor, Op. 68 by Johannes Brahms will be performed.

During the break you are invited at the 'Alexandru Tomescu, 24 out of 24' CD launch, which includes the integral Caprices for Violin by Niccolò Paganini, followed by a session of autographs.
