Radio Chamber Orchestra - live broadcast
Wednesday, 29 February 2012 , 19.00

The Radio Academic Chorus and the Chamber Orchestra will perform works by Johann Sebastian Bach, Joseph Haydn and Michael Haydn, the younger brother of the renowned composer, on Wednesday, 19 February, starting at 19:00.

The orchestra will be conducted by Cristian Brâncuși. The first part of the concert will feature Symphony No. 26 in D minor, popularly known as Lamentatione, by Joseph Haydn and Divertimento in E flat for viola, cello and double bass by Michael Haydn. One of the greatest classical composers, Michael Haydn (1737-1806) made his debut and even lived for a few years in Oradea (Großwardein in German), when the city was still ruled by the Habsburg Monarchy. He was appointed Kapellmeister and composed several works there until 1762, when he was offered the opportunity to work in Salzburg.

The second part of the programme will include the work Magnificat in D major BWV 243 by Bach, performed by soprano Georgiana Vârjoghe, mezzo-soprano Kutasi Judit Isabela, tenor Nicolae Simonov and bass Filip Panait. They will be accompanied by the Radio Academy Chorus conducted by Dan Mihai Goia and organ player Marcel Costea.
