Radio Chamber Orchestra - live broadcast
Wednesday, 4 April 2012 , 19.00

Wednesday, 4 April 2012, 19.00 the Radio Chamber Orchestra invites you to a symphonic concert which will have as guest German conductor Ralf Sochaczewsky, who has been present in the Mihail Jora Studio during the Guitar International Festival last year. The soloist of the concert will be violinist Alexandru Tomescu.

In the programme will be two concerts composed by Unico Wilhelm van Wassenaer, a Dutch diplomat and composer (1692-1766): Concerto armonico No. 1 and Concerto armonico No. 5. Because he was a noble, van Wassenaer could not publish these works with his name, that is why for a long time they were thought to have been written by some other composers - Carlo Ricciotti or Pergolesi - up until 1979-1980 when some manuscripts called Concerti armonici were discovered in the archives of the castle where van Wassenaer was born, with a note signed by him where he stated that these were his works.

Alexandru Tomescu will perform, together with the Radio Chamber Orchestra, two concerts by Johann Sebastian Bach: Violin Concerto in A minor, BWV 1041 and Violin Concerto in E major, BWV 1042, and in the closing of the programme we will listen to Igor Stravinsky's Suite of Pulcinella.
