Radio Chamber Orchestra
Wednesday, 10 March 2010 , 19.00

A new concert of the Radio Chamber Orchestra is waiting for you in the ‘Mihail Jora’ Studio of Radio Romania. This time, pianist Dana Borșan – soloist of the Radio Orchestras and Choruses – is invited to perform, accompanied by violinist Ladislau Petru Horvath, the soloist score of the Piano, Violin and String Orchestra Concerto for by Felix Mendelssohn, a creation from the artist’s youth, a relatively recent discovery.

The evening promises to be delightful, due both to the presence of the two artists and the chosen works, because this is what you may also listen to on Wednesday, March 10th, from 19:00: the first part of the concert continues, after Mendelssohn’s work, with Suite Op.3 for string orchestra by Leos Janácek, where you may find themes from the Moravian folklore; then, after the break, the Radio Chamber Orchestra returns to the stage to offer the audience Spielmusik Op.3 No.1 signed by 20th-century composer Paul Hindemith and, to close the evening, the Overture to the Opera Medeea by Luigi Cherubini.

The audience can listen tonight to Petru Horvath both as soloist and conductor.

Therefore, join me on Wednesday, March 10th at 19:00 on the Radio Romania Music frequencies to listen to the concert and find more information about the musical pieces in this programme.
