Radio Chamber Orchestra - live broadcast
Wednesday, 17 March 2010 , 19.00

The bandonéon is the soul of the ‘orquesta típica’, the band that plays traditional South-American music – tango, for instance; the accordion immediately brings to mind Paris’s picturesque lofts.

The two instruments will meet in the ‘Mihail Jora’ Studio in the first season of the International Bandonéon and Accordion Festival, organized by Radio Romania between March 17th and 24th.

Peter Soave, Héctor Ulises Passarella, conductor Roberto Salvalaio and the sextet led by Richard Galliano are some of the musicians invited to perform in the six festival evenings.

At the opening concert, bandonéon player Peter Soave and his wife, accordion player Madeleine, are, together with soprano Alina Bottez and baritone Yuri Tsiple, soloists in a South-American programme: Astor Piazzolla, Luis Bacalov and Aldemaro Romero. The Academic Radio Choir, trained by Dan Mihai Goia, and the Radio Chamber Orchestra will be conducted by maestro Horia Andreescu.

Is the weather too bad for a walk or are you too tired? Then turn on your radio on frequency 104.8 or open the web page en.romania-muzical.ro/ and listen live to this concert from 19:00.
