Radio Chamber Orchestra - live broadcast
Wednesday, 21 April 2010 , 19.00

Works by Franz Schubert, Camille Saint-Saëns, Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, David Popper and Georges Bizet – these are the names of this week’s repertoire of the Radio Chamber Orchestra.

On Wednesday, April 21st 2010 the musicians will be performing under the baton of conductor Gheorghe Costin alongside one of the most appreciated Romanian ‘cellists, Marin Cazacu.

The evening will start with Franz Schubert’s Overture for Orchestra D. 591 in C major, one of the two composed in an ‘Italian style’ and will continue with Camille Saint-Saëns’ Allegro appassionato op. 43 with the performance of the ‘cellist. Marin Cazacu will also be interpreting Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky’s Lenski’s Aria from Eugene Onegin in an arrangement for cello and orchestra as well as David Popper’s Hungarian Rhapsody Op. 68. The Radio Chamber Orchestra will end the performance with Georges Bizet’s Symphony in C major, a work he composed at the age of seventeen.

Therefore, the Mihail Jora Concerts Studio will be hosting an entirely romantic concert, a performance which will also be broadcast on Radio Romania Music live starting from 19.00.
