Radio Chamber Orchestra - live broadcast
Wednesday, 2 February 2011 , 19.00

The Romanian Chamber Radio Orchestra together with Serbian violinist and conductor Robert Bokor offer radio station listeners a special suggestion, a repertoire challenge. Le quatro stagioni violin and orchestra concert series by Antonio Vivaldi, whose harmonies and nuances takes listeners back to 18th century Italy – a sequence of pictures in which each brush stroke reveals a detail, a sound or a harmony. La primavera, L'estate, L'autunno and L'inverno – the four wide sections that form an impressive picture, all accompanying beautiful sonnets. This is how an impressive programmatic work was constructed at that time (1723).

Only two centuries later (1965-1969), Astor Piazzolla wrote four tangos for chamber orchestra – four states of mind that put the seasons into an Argentinean perspective – called Quatro estaciónes porteñas.

The Radio Chamber Orchestra has invited violinist and conductor Robert Bokor, who is regarded as a complete and complex musician, a maestro of nuances and harmonies, a young man for whom each score is... a challenge.

We invite you to join us in this travel through time and space, in this story about European and South-American seasons, in the Mihail Jora Concert Hall of the Romanian Radio Broadcasting Company or by listening to Radio Romania Music, starting 19.00.

Do not let this wonderful story pass you by!
