Today on Arpeggio, I suggest that you should listen to an album released by Deutsche Gramophon on 3rd March, 2014: the entire collection of Robert Shumann’s symphonies, conducted by the Canadian Yannick Nezet-Seguin from the music rack of the Chamber Orchestra of Europe.

line-height: 150%;" align="JUSTIFY">Seguin, who is turning thirty-nine the very next day, on 6th March, 2014, is extremely successful both with the opera repertoire and the symphonic one. Since 2000, he has been the conductor of the Orchestre Métropolitain of Montreal, of the Rotterdam Philharmonic Orchestra and of the Philadelphia Orchestra. He is the principal guest conductor of the London Philharmonic Orchestra and collaborates with many other worldwide important orchestras. Yannick Nezet-Seguin is named the most interesting and gifted conductor of his generation, known throughout the entire world ̍...

The Chamber Orchestra of Europe, founded in 1981 is administratively based in London and has about sixty members from all around Europe. It does not have a specific concert hall or a sole conductor, but collaborates with many worldwide famous soloists and conductors for the musical concerts and for the recordings. It is a one-of-a-kind ensemble.

Our only duty is to listen to the new versions of Robert Schumann’s four symphonies, which came into existence due to the conductor Yannick Nezet-Seguin and to the Chamber Orchestra of Europe. The album is included in the Radio Romania Music campaign – Vote the Best Classical Music Album of 2014 that you can access on the web page: www.romaniamuzical.ro. We will be broadcasting the entire album in four editions.
