The pianist maestro Valentin Gheorghiu, a true legend of Romanian performing arts and the sensational violinist Gabriel Croitoru are the authors of the CD they have brought to our attention. The CD was recorded in August 2010 and released by the Casa Radio Publishing House in the first month of that year, more specifically on 31st January, 2014. The album contains Ludwig van Beethoven̕ s Violin Sonata no.9 in A major op 47, Kreutzer Sonata, Antonín Dvoűák̕ s Sonatina in G major for violin and piano and George Enescu̕ s Violin Sonata No. 3 in A minor, Op 25, dans le caractère populaire roumain.

This is a recital performed by high-class musicians, who professionally have a good communication and also a beautiful friendship, in spite of the age difference. It is an honour to work with Valentin Gheorghiu…I think we have a sort of understanding that doesn̕ t imply too many words. (Gabriel Croitoru confesses) This album mesmerizes you from the first notes, having the virtuoso Gabriel Croitoru̕ s violin technique successfully combined with the maestro Valentin Gheorghiu̕ s sensitivity and enchanting sounds.

This is an album I would simply describe as a high-class performance and I invite you to listen to Ludwig van Beethoven̕ s Violin Sonata no.9 in A major op 47, Kreutzer Sonata, but not before reminding you that this album is included in the Vote the best classical album of 2014 campaign.
