Those of you who are going to listen to this edition of the programme are, definitely, some privileged music lovers! This assertion is based on precise arguments, which exclude any possible accusation of vanity against Radio Romania Music.

An absolute discographic premiere

… is presented to you right before its official release date, in the middle of October. A score about which Ruxandra Donose stated that it was 'a veritable Baroque opera, where the soloists are given the chance to prove their virtuosity, agility and their splendid voices' in a musical display, similar to that of the spirit of the oratorio (for the dramatic action is much dimmed in this work).

A restitution of an unknown opus

… after nearly three centuries since La concordia de' pianeti was heard for the first time and – it seems – only time, at the Court of Vienna, during the celebration of the Empress's anniversary. Planets' orbits intersect and praise Queen Eliza, who was to bring soon a new heir into the world. At Andrea Marcon's request, a musicological study was conducted in Sienna, in order to get as clear as possible data on the work.

A feat of strength

… for the interpreters, who presented to the public in Dortmund, the work in the concertante version, on January 2014, having a few recording sessions in parallel (just so they could be on the safer side!!!). Everything lasted very little (as mezzo-soprano Ruxandra Donose mentioned when she presented  her participation in this interpretative enterprise), the current material being selected and turned into the tracks onto this double album, released by the recording label Deutsche Grammophon.

The Science and Art of the Baroque interpretation

...unveils itself to the listener, having the support of acknowledged musicians with this kind of repertoire, some of them carrying a remarkable discographic 'dowry'. The harpsichordist, organist and conductor Andrea Marcon has conquered his place among the animators and propagators of this age's authenticity of sonority for several years, alongside ensembles from Italy and other cultural spaces. While conducting the La Cetra vocal-instrumental ensemble from Basel, Andrea Marcon collaborated with distinguished voices, very appreciated in this reportorial area.

La concordia de' pianeti – a discovery made by passionate and remarkable musicians of the present, who bring to attention, in a charming, actual manner, fresh through its enthusiasm, the brightness of the voices, their performances and interpretative involvement, the fastidious sonorous DÉCOR of the past, by walking us through a gallery of golden, shinning, valorous, wonderfully stylistically presented sonorous exhibits.
