Alice Sara Ott and Francesco Tristano, two Deutsche Grammophon artists, challenge all the music lovers with a new album released on 8th September, 2014

They wanted to create a scandal, but they only managed to arouse public's imagination as well as their latent energy - Alice Sara Ott and Francesco Tristano, two of the 80's pianists, with their latest album released by Deutsche Grammophon. The album's name, Scandale, is inspired by Igor Stravinsky's Rites of Spring, a two-piano version, also adapted by the composer. It is know that, Le Sacre du printemps has caused a tremendous scandal in the Parisian society, even from its first performance.

Very detached, the two pianists give us an amazing performance. They 'dance' on the keyboard in the awe-inspiring rhythm of the Russian composer. They met three or four years ago, they know each other very well, they are discovering each other's affinities and, in these circumstances, 'music comes naturally and very easy', as Alice Sara Ott says. Their virtuosity is breath-taking, they have a cutting-edge recording technique and the sound performance is complete. Sometimes, we can feel the Earth pulsing along with its reverberations. In the musical scenario, there is a moment when the bass line is enhanced by additional strikes. The piano's percussive quality is so well stressed that the reduced timbre due to the lack of the orchestra is overshadowed.

Scandale comes with another bonus for two pianos: La Valse, by Maurice Ravel, The Story of the Kalender Prince, from the Scheherazade Suite, by Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov as well as a piece composed by Francesco Tristano an artist with a broader horizon, revealed to us due to this enterprise). We recommend this explosive, alert album with a modern touch pinpointed by the two protagonists.
