This article is a compilation. Because I was so impressed looking into this new discographic apparition - the second - which Jordi Savall wrote in the memory of his wife, the soprano Motserrat Figueras, who passed away on 23^rd November, 2011. The album which reunites the recordings made throughout the years by the voice of the assembly Hesperion XX, includes, like all the other productions of Jordi Savall, with CDs, DVDs and a wide documentation in the best graphic representation. There are texts written by Jordy Savall, by historians, academic professors, label record directors, writers and even a poet - Carles Duarte i Montserrat. Extremly beautiful texts. This is because the presence of Montserrat Figueras on stage, arose unique emotions a few decades in a row, her presence in the music world was truly special. And in the idea that maybe not many of you will buy this album - La voix de l'emotion - I allow myself to present here some of the fragments which arise the exact same kind of emotion which we feel when we listen to the recordings of the soprano Montserrat Figueras.

Sentiment, beauty, memory

"More than two years have passed since the sudden death of Montserrat Figueras. It is a long and new stage in our lives which elapses like a sigh, a sigh marked by the contrast between the void of an eternal physical absence and the great richness of the memory, of what it was, which strongly remains in the present day. The silence and the tears which dominated our hearts in the time of this painful stage, carrying so many regrets and a profound nostalgia, left little by little place - like the sun rays after the storm - for thoughts of gratitude and joy. The feeling of profound gratitude towards the one who was, for over 40 years, a careful partner, loyal and delicate, and especially a veritable muse, always inspired and a complice.

The distinct berceuse, chansons, romances, arias, lamentations and compliments dedicated to Virgin Mary, to whom Montserrat gave life in this second collection La voix de l'emotion allow us to feel how much the beautiful artistic, human and spiritual message of her act is of actuality. We will also feel touched by an infinite scale of expressions and sounds of a pure beauty, such that they will keep forever this new "voice of emotion" in our most intimate memory".

"Other performers are admired, adulated, covered with flowers. Montserrat was only loved - but with gratitude and by everyone. She appeared in the moment in which we needed her more. Our world was a Babel of dissensions, of differences, of screamings. Her voice, the voice of an angel, contented to be what nature and art wanted - light, tenderness, compassion. But she saw even further. She pleaded for other ages, civilizations and races, for the forgotten, for the excluded. Always like a sister for everyone. She was herself the whole Spain - with the husky vibration of the distant centuries, the inflexion being Moorish, Gipsy and also mystic monachal... She gave her voice to the entire world in which she sings. An explorer and a conqueror, without armour, only with the power of her faith and mission".

She followed an exemplary path due to hard work, a volition and rigor which brought her respect and appreciation of the musical world in all Europe and in the five continents. On 17^th June, 2008, UNESCO named her "The Peace Artist", together with Jordi Savall... Today we are left with her music. We open the windows to rediscover her generous light, born by beauty and spirituality. Listening to her voice again on this record, her brave soul is still alive among us, totally dedicated to life and art, in a tireless search of plenitude.
