Young Talents Gala, 2020 edition - event show dedicated to young artists supported by the Margareta of Romania Royal Foundation

Thursday, 3 December 2020 , ora 14.50

The Margareta of Romania Royal Foundation organizes the Young Talents Gala 2020 edition, a show-event dedicated to young musicians and visual artists, scholarship holders of the Young Talents program. The gala will be broadcasted on the 30th of November, starting with 9.00 pm, on TVR3, and broadcast online on TVR + and the Facebook page of the Foundation.

Each year, the Young Talents Gala brings to the public's attention the young musicians and visual artists who are at the beginning of their journey and supported in their artistic development by the Margareta of Romania Royal Foundation. The event represents for the scholarship holders of the Young Talent program the opportunity to demonstrate their artistic evolution, with the support of the Foundation and under the guidance of mentors.

Because this year their talent and creations can no longer be brought to a concert or exhibition hall, individual and group artistic projects, realized through an interdisciplinary collaboration, will be presented in the show broadcast on November 30th, starting with 9 pm, on TVR 3, and online on TVR + and the Facebook page of the Foundation.

The young artists talk about their experiences as fellows of the program during 2020, the importance of the scholarship, mentors and promotion in their artistic path, but also about how they managed to adapt their artistic act in this challenging year. The coordinator of the Young Talents program, Gabriela Iordache, presents the opportunities and benefits offered to young artists and the ways in which they are supported in the current context of the pandemic.

The Margareta of RomaniaRoyal Foundation congratulates the 30 scholarship holders of the Young Talents 2020 program and thanks the mentors who were with them this year - conductor Gabriel Bebeșelea, cellist Andrei Ioniță, conductor Tiberiu Soare, tenor Teodor Ilincăi, cellist Marin Cazacu, pianist Vlad Iftinca, violinist Răzvan Popovici, pianist Verona Maier, cellist Octavian Lup, visual artists Suzana Dan and Ioana Ciocan.

Through the Young Talents scholarships, the Royal Margaret Foundation of Romania supports talented Romanian young people who do not have the chance to develop in the absence of the necessary resources or guidance. The national selection for the 2021 scholarships is now open to students from high schools and universities of music and arts across the country. The complete file is sent until December 18th, 2020, to the e-mail address: tineretalente@principesa.ro. Details on eligibility criteria and method of application can be found AICI.

The national Young Talents program is supported by partners and sponsors, but also by individual donations collected by SMS to 8864 with the text ART, through which the public can donate 4 Euro per month within the campaign Romania needs art.

About the Young Talents program

The Young Talents national program started in 2008 with the aim of supporting and promoting talented young artists who come from modest families and who need financial support to reach their true potential and express their talent. What differentiates the Young Talents program from other scholarship projects is the holistic approach, focused on developing and asserting these emerging artists, not just on financial support. In addition to scholarships, young people receive guidance from valuable mentors, training through masterclasses and promotion opportunities. During the 13 years of activity through this program, 350 scholarships were awarded, 450 recitals, concerts and exhibitions were organized, 140 national and international masterclasses were provided and 175 prizes were won at national and international competitions.
