In the second partwe move into a different musical environment, with its own manifestation of meaning and depth. We have a rising phenomenon of jazz in Europe, but especially in Scandinavia, which we have been talking about and will talk a lot from now on, thanks to the growing number of incredible artists who creatively and virtuouslycontribute to the enrichment of European jazz aesthetics. We already have a full list of Scandinavian music hits that bring together melancholy soundscapes and the jazz tradition. Little North is a young trio from Denmark and makes no exception to this custom, but through their 2021 album, "Finding Seagulls", they write a new chapter in this already rich tradition. The group spent itsearly years composing and singing together, which developed a mature and intuitive relationship.Subtly moving from composition to improvisation, they form a complex unfolding that hides discreetly beneath the surface, with an emphasis on melody. When a seagull appears in the middle of the ocean, we can know that the land is not far away. "Finding Seagulls" metaphorically represents this search for the shore in an ocean of possibilities. Little North is looking for sounds that bring the warmth of jazz along with the icy, minimalist sound of the North, creating that fascinating music that we have come to know and love. Captivating, atmospheric, tormenting and bright at the same time.
