Luminița Arvunescu, President of UCRRM, announces the 2024 MUSICRIT Awards Gala
LuminițaArvunescu - President of the Romanian Union of Music Critics, Editors and Producers, announces the third edition of the MUSICRIT Awards Gala, which will take place early next year, on the 14th of January, at the Romanian Athenaeum.
It's with great pleasure that I announce the 2024 MUSICRIT AWARDS GALA, which will take place for the second time, under the majestic dome of the Romanian Athenaeum, with the following note: when we talk about the MUSICRIT Awards, we are talking about the Awards that the Romanian Union of Music Critics, Editors and Producers has been offering for over 3 decades: an initiative of tradition, therefore, which has also remained unique in the Romanian cultural landscape, through which our union rewards excellence, both at the level of musical institutions and at the level of artists, journalists and managers in the field of classical music.
This year, our partners who will help us organise the Musicrit Awards Gala are: the "George Enescu" Philharmonic, the "Tinerimea Română" Cultural Centre and Artexim. And the categories in which the 2024 Musicrit Awards will be offered are:
Music Criticism; Management; Discography; Musical Projects; Best Opera Season in the Country; Best Symphonic Season in the Country; Festival of the Year; Instrumentalist of the Year; Lyricist of the Year and Revelation of the Year. In total, 10 categories, in addition to which will be awarded several other distinctions for the entire activity, such as: the Prize - bearing the name of the musicologist Grigore Constantinescu, the first President of the union, 5 Excellence Awards and the Musicrit Trophy ... the latter awarded last year - for example, the National Chamber Choir "Madrigal - Marin Constantin", on the anniversary of 6 decades of excellence - and two years ago, the Violoncellissimo ensemble initiated and conducted by the maestro Marina Cazacu.
As in the past editions, the Musicrit Awards ceremony will take place during a concert to which I also strive to confer the characteristics of Excellence. This time, the concert will be conducted by Maestro Cristian Mandeal and will feature internationally renowned stars and exceptional artists such as: sopranos Anita Hartig and EgyedApollonya, baritones IonuțPascu and Mihai Damian, violinist Maria Marica, organist Steffen Schlandt, RCO String Quartett, Power Flute Ensemble conducted by Ion Bogdan Ștefănescu and, of course, the Romanian Youth Orchestra, with whom I have signed a long-term partnership that I am very happy about.
And, speaking of long-term partnerships, we also have the two main sponsors of the Gala with us: the international IT company QuickWeb.ro and the DELEANU law firm - to whom I am particularly grateful at this point.
So when will we meet again at the Musicrit Awards Gala?
Around the National Culture Day, on the 14th of January, 2025, at 19.00!
Where? At the Romanian Athenaeum!
Tickets will be on sale at the G. Enescu Philharmonic and, keep in mind, we are offering 50 invitations to the first 50 applicants who will write us on the email: ucrrm@musicrit.ro
