The rehabilitation construction work of the National Theatre Bucharest, starting this spring, will also have an impact on the Studio Hall which is the venue of The National Operetta Theatre Ion Dacian.

Răzvan Ioan Dincă, the manager of The National Operetta Theatre Ion Dacian gave us a statement regarding the venue where the performances of The National Operetta Theatre Ion Dacian will take place:

« I am glad that the National Theatre receives such a great investment which is very important to any theatre. However, we are still looking for new solutions, which we seem to have found, to keep this situation from being detrimental to our institution. We have prepared a timetable for the beginning of the rehabilitation work so we could present some more of our performances here until we have found a permanent venue where we could perform in good conditions.

I am glad because the Minister of Culture and I have thought of a very good solution. I am talking about a large space behind the National Library where a temporary building might be raised that will provide us with a permanent space for the next two or three years where we could present our performances. In the meantime, the rehabilitation work of the Omnia Hall will start - the future permanent venue of the The National Operetta Theatre Ion Dacian - which is the former Omnia Hall of the Senate of Romania. It will definitely have all the high quality facilities that a professional theatre needs. Thus, during this period of transition a temporal building will be provided which will offer far better facilities than those we have now.

If everything happens as we have decided, there is no reason why we should not agree with the decision of beginning the capital renovation work at the National Theatre. I can only assert that the plan is a good one and if we follow it no one will suffer.»
