The 'Keys' Festival at the National University ofMusic Bucharest (5th - 10th of April)

Thursday, 7 April 2011 , ora 12.30

Interview with the institute's rector, Prof. Dr. Dan Dediu

In your opinion, what will be the points of maximum interest of this year's edition of the Keys Festival?

We have several points of interest: the opening show, the Alcina opera by G.F. Händel, and, of course, the closing show, which will take place on Sunday, April 10th 2011, at 7 pm at the Radio Hall, a symphonic concert dedicated to the victims of the Japan natural disasters, with an exciting program - the Triple Concerto and a overture by Beethoven, and then a Brahms symphony.

During the festival, we will have an organ evening, with guests from all over the country who will play on the organ of the National University of Music Bucharest, a new organ of which we are very proud. We will have a recital dedicated to the piano opera of Franz Liszt to celebrate his 200th birthday. We have a performance, a one man show Nijinski, of a canto student, and, last but not least, we have two chamber music concerts with our best students.

Let us not forget about a Byzantine music concert, as the Easter holidays are approaching; a jazz concert and the Excellence Gala in our University, with many diplomas and other surprises, which will take place on Saturday evening (April 9th), at 7 pm, in the George Enescu Hall of the National University of Music Bucharest.
