Interview with Adriana Bera - Mozart Festival, 2013, Cluj

Friday, 6 December 2013 , ora 9.33

The 23rd edition of the Mozart Festival will take place in Cluj between 6th and 23rd December 2013. The President of the Romanian Mozart Association, the festival’s organizer, gives us more details about the event.

Ms. Adriana Bera, the 23
rd edition of the Mozart Festival will begin on 6th December. Could you please give us some information about this edition?

Once again, we try to offer the audience, which we hope will be composed not only of the people of Cluj, works by Mozart and famous musical pieces by other composers, performed by young Romanian and foreign soloists joined by well-known names of the Romanian and European music stages. On 6th December, there will be two symphonic concerts conducted by Mihail Agafița, from the Republic of Moldova, and Ladislau Horvath, from Italy. The soloists of these concerts are the young Hungarian trumpeter Margit Csökmei, winner of the first prize at the Gheorghe Dima competition in Cluj, and our dear pianist, Viniciu Moroianu.

Between the two concerts, several other interesting events will take place: a concert for children, entitled The Dressed-up Melody, a competition for singers and accompaniment pianists and a few chamber concerts performed by young performers, winners of international competitions. For example, flutist Seiya Ueno, oboist Ye Chang Jung from Korea, the violin and piano duo consisting of Friedericke Starkloff and Alexandra Schmiedel from Germany, pianist Aurelia Vișovan and members of the Transylvania Philharmonic Orchestra. A concert performed by the Arcadia Quartet will take place on 12th December. This quartet, that has made the people of Cluj so proud, has won very important international prizes and has a spectacular career. A symposium will be held on 11th December; during the event, interesting announcements will be made.
