Soprano Anda-Louise Bogza in recital at The Prague Opera House

Friday, 21 May 2010 , ora 9.33

After she brought to life the role Tosca on the stages of the opera houses in Prague and Rome, the soprano Anda Louise Bogza is setting her sight on interpreting the lied. On Monday, May 24th 2010 the Romanian interpreter, accompanied on stage by the pianist Jan Simons, will perform lieds by Chopin, Schubert, Schumann, Brahms and Enescu.

At this recital you are to interpret lieds. What draws you towards this domain of the canto ?

A long time ago I was committed towards the lied concerto. I don't always have time for it but this time the opera house had a great ideea; a lied night.

Recently you have interpreted the role of Tosca from the same opera onto the stage of The Opera House in Rome. Can you compare this institution with The Opera House in Prague where you perform the same role ?

I performed Tosca not only in Rome, but also in Prague. At The Opera House in Prague there is a very beautiful staging of the director Franz Svoboda; also in Rome there was a very beautiful and interesting production, a not very modern one but extremely appreciated. I have also performed Tosca at Verona's Arenas in August 2009, with the director Hugo de Anna.
