Cellist Razvan Suma - Tour Event in the Romanian Music Life
Mr. Razvan Suma, you will soon begin a national tour - event that asks the public the following question: 'Do you like Bach?' How did this project come to life and what makes it an important event in the Romanian music life?
The project came to life quite a while ago, it was like a dream. 'Will I ever be able to play all of Bach's suites in a concert? - this was the question I have asked myself ever since I started studying Bach. This happened when I was about 12 years old. And now I feel I am ready. I believe it is an event for the Romanian public - no one has ever played it in Romania before, no Romanian artist has ever performed it in a concert. My former professor, Marin Cazacu played it before, about 25 years ago. It is practically a new endeavour. I really wish people would come to the concert with open hearts and take the time to enjoy this special music.
Where is the tour to be performed between 1-21 March?
Pitesti, Bacau, Dumbraveni, Bucuresti, Bistrita and Baia Mare.
How would you characterize this music in relation with its role in today's society?
Not only from my point of view, but Bach has been in demand for the past 300 years, so it is perfectly adapted to our society which is blinded by lack of time.
