Interview with the violinist Gabriel Croitoru
Mr.
Gabriel Croitoru, today Radio Romania Music will broadcast the CD you
and Mr. Valentin Gheorghiu put together. What does this album mean to
you now and what did it mean before?
It is a great honour to perform with the maestro Valentin Gheorghiu who accepted me as a collaborator and as a friend. I am extremely proud of the CD we created and glad for the opportunity to release it. This is quite a first for both of us, taking into account that last year, when we celebrated the 85th anniversary of the Radio station, we also celebrated maestro Valentin Gheorghiu̕ s 85th beautiful anniversary. I repeat I am very glad we have created this CD and hopefully we will collaborate in many more.
But
still, you are leaving the musical realm of our country for the
Portuguese one.
I am leaving from our university, UNMB to the University of Porto through the Erasmus programme. I am going to run a course in Porto and with this occasion, I am holding a recital together with my friend and ex-university colleague, Constantin Zatu.
And
how will the repertoire look like?
The repertoire will be split in half between me and him. It consists of light musical pieces, it is not complex, but something that does not consume much of our time, because we are aware that we won̕ t have a lot of spare time for the rehearsals.
We
thank you for your time and wish you all the best. Is there anything
else you would like to add for those who will rejoice today̕ s
broadcast of the album you and the maestro Valentin Gheorghiu put
together?
I would like my listeners to share many beautiful moments with Radio Romania Music. I am happy that we have a wider audience and hopefully the number of those who listen to our music on Radio Romania Music will grow, as well as the number of those who attend our concerts.
