Firstly, let's talk about the previouseditions of the Festival- how do yourecallthem?

In my perspective, these opportunities were treasured experiences - singing in the Hall of the Central University Library, and the relationship with the Romanian public has always been, throughout the two editions I have participated in so far, wonderful. People's reactions to the music and the quality of listening were impressive. I am very happy to return to Romania.

How would you describe the Romanian public?

The people were very attentive, very focused in the listening process, which provides satisfaction to the performer. I also noticed the same thing last night, when I performed for the first time the Guitar Concerto by Dan Dediu, in Sibiu. The audience was very focused on the music, and it was very quiet. You can feel the quality of the quiet, which is very impressive, I think.

What can you tell us about this Concert, signed by Dan Dediu?

It is an extremely imaginative piece, with characters and textures, a successful piece; I think it will enter the repertoire, because it is very well written. I consider that I not having to correct for the guitar, it is very well written, very idiomatic - maybe a single note that I suggested to Dan Dediu not to play; but the rest is perfectly singable and idiomatic for the instrument, and the orchestral score is wonderful, indeed. Thus, I was deeply happy to be included in this premiere and, obviously, honored, to have this work dedicated to me.

In previous editions, I assume you were also part of the audience as well - how would you describe the festival experience from this point of view?

When it comes to a community of people who share a musical experience, a live concert, and everyone is in the same kind of concentrated mood, it is always a powerful experience. For me, as a listener - sometimes in other parts of the world you have a restless audience, which is very frustrating for me, as I am willing to focus on my music, without being bothered by other people. That was not the case this time, that is why I am glad to return.

I know you have a course of artistry planned.

I do not plan anything, my role is not to enforce my knowledge, but to react according to my students. When I am in front of them, I react in the same way as when I perform the music on stage, in the moment of the concert, reacting to the interpretation of the other musicians. I see teaching the same way - lacking a concrete plan. I see what they have to offer and then I answer. I do not have a lesson model, there is no such thing for me.
