Wind Water Earth is a very nice concept, it reminds us about zen, but I guess there were also other reasons behind the choice of this title.

Dan Popescu: It's the three elements. Paradoxically, the idea started from a trio, Wind Water Earth, which I initially composed for flute, cello and harp and later adapted for violin, cello and piano. And the meaning of the three elements is quite representative for the instruments, but for me the wind came, as I said, from the first contact with Alexandru on this side of composition and understanding of the violin. Water is the element through which I discovered my inclination; about talent - it is the duty of the audience to say whether I have it or not. My inclination and passion would be more correct to say. The piano keys, because water is an element that I somehow associate with this instrument. And the earth, of course, is the one that gives materiality to the cello, it is so powerful, vibrant, so versatile after all. And yet, during the construction of the 9 pieces that constitute the tour and the album, I discovered new valences, new combinations between voices. The idea for the name of the tour came maybe after I heard my works being performed by the three musicians. Only then did I realize that the three elements are not necessarily one instrument or another, but that they are found in the whole reasoning and emotion; and feelings that,at some point, are present in all the pieces, in a certain voice, then maybe in another voiceand, at certain points, in all three of them. And, somehow, post factum, after seeing their performance both at the rehearsals and at the recordings, I realized that, for me, this album is an accumulation of, perhaps, a life experience, transposed into the essential elements. It's true, the fire is missing, but I think the fire was brought also by the musicians, through their performing.

Wind Water Earth is an album that is released on the occasion of a tour that starts on April 1^st and that will reach several cities in the country. I invite you, Alexandru, to tell us a little about the itinerary.

Alexandru Tomescu: Yes, we will travel to the main cities of the country, namely Cluj, Sibiu, Brașov, Ploiești and Bucharest - where we will end the tour. In each city we will launch this compact disc of the same name, Wind Water Earth, a co-production with Radio România. I am very happy that we have this opportunity to offer the public, in addition to the emotion experienced there in the concert hall, the possibility to take it home with them. This is one of the miracles of the twentieth century, in fact, that we can enjoy nowadays too.
