Mihaela Ursuleasa and Belcea quartet – among the Echo Klassik 2010 prizewinners
Two Romanian names are listed among the
winners of the ECHO Klassik 2010 prizes, granted for excellence in the field of
classical music recordings: pianist Mihaela Ursuleasa was ‘Soloist recording of
the year, with works from the 19th century – piano section’. Mihaela Ursuleasa
received this prize for the disc with works by Beethoven, Brahms, Ravel, Paul
Constantinescu and Alberto Ginastera.
Also, Belcea Quartet was designated the
winner for ‘Chamber music registering of the year, with creations from the 19th
century – section strings’. The prize was granted for the record with opera by
Franz Schubert, made by the band run by the violinist Corina Belcea.
Among the winners of ECHO Klassik 2010
prizes – mezzo-soprano Cecilia Bartoli, ‘Opera recording of the year – section
aria and duets’, Lang Lang – instrumentalist of the year, piano section, Paavo
Järvi – conductor of the year, tenor Jonas Kaufman – singer of the year and
mezzo-soprano Joyce DiDonato – singer of the year.
The ceremony for awarding ECHO Klassik 2010
prizes is to take place on October 17th, at the Philharmonic in
