Monday, 7 March 2011 , ora 10.33

The Spirit of Wien are three Romanian young men: two flute players and a piano player who performed a concerto at the Romanian Cultural Institute in Paris on Friday, March 11th, 2011.

Matei Ioachimescu and Mihaela Anica chose a repertoire to show - the numerous audience - all the possibilities of each instrument from a refined sound to the virtuosity that is full of energy and totally conquering. The first was brought to life by Mihaela Anica and the second by Matei Ioachimescu, showing the nobility of an opera singer. On the piano Horia Maxim, all passionate and receptive, set the tone for the performing style.

Expressive and refined, suitable for the music of every period, the three artists did not forget at all about Mozart, Kuhlau, Fauré, Enescu or Shostakovitch. They wanted to prove the beauty and perfection of the flute and they succeded.
