Second Edition of British Composition Season

The British Council is providing people with the opportunity to discover the British contemporary music by inviting them to the second concert of the British Composition Season, which will be held at the Tinerimea Română National Art Centre on Thursday, January 26th, 2012, at 17:30.
The concert will showcase five renowned composers such as Judith Weir, Diana Burrell, John Woolrich, Philip Cashian, Tom Ades and also young Helen Grimme.
The Profil Ensemble will be performing.
The discreet sound of the piano forte is a characteristic of the works included in the programme.
On its second edition, the British Composition Season features for the first time in Romania a series of four monthly concerts - December16th, 2011, January 26th, 2012, February 23th, 2012 and March 29th, 2012 - dedicated to the work of the most important British female composers. The programme includes compositions which combine classical elements and elements of modern multimedia technology and has been curated by composer Philip Cashian, Head of Composition at the Royal Academy of Music in London.
