Mozart Evening at the Radio Hall!

Friday, 11 January 2013 , ora 8.52

We usually start each year in the company of the famous Vienna Philharmonic by means of their concert broadcasted live all over the world; but this time the National Radio Orchestra has prepared a special event for you at the beginning of the new year, which brings us back to the Austrian music world: the Mozart Evening.

The concert at the Radio Hall will be performed on Friday, 18th January, at 19:00, under Ladislau Horváth's baton, the concertmaster of the famous Italian orchestra Maggio Musicale Fiorentino and also a violinist-concertist and conductor with a prolific international career behind. The violinist Cristina Anghelescu, a soloist-concertist of the Radio Orchestra and Choirs, a laureate of many specialty contests and an active musician on the national and international podiums, will also take part in the concert.

The first Mozartian composition in the schedule is the overture entitled Der Schauspieldirektor in D major, a lively work, full of musical humour. The evening will carry on with another composition from his youth, written when the musical genius was only nineteen years old: the Violin and Orchestra Concerto no. 4 in D major, which impresses with its brilliant technical virtuosity, obliging the soloist to perform artfully. The concert will be concluded with one of the last of Mozart's creations, composed when he was 32 years old, only 3 years before his death: Symphony no. 41 in D major - Jupiter, having an imposing sonority and a triumphant aura, as its title also suggets.
