Verdi's 200th Anniversary at The Radio Hall: An Once-In-A-Lifetime Opportunity to See "Don Carlos"!
The first series of shows dedicated to Verdi embodies one of the National Radio Orchestra's concert performances Don Carlos which is both an important composition of Verdi's creation and a nice occasion to appreciate such a rare rendering for Romania that takes place in Bucharest.
The Radio Hall holds at 19:00 on Friday, 25th January, 2013, the dramatic story of Carlos, the prince of Austria who grows to love his father's future wife - as part of the peace treaty- Philip II of Spain. Based on Friedrich Schiller's historical tragedy the plot that took place back in the 16th century is now enlivened by the Romanian renowned soloists: Sorin Drăniceanu, Daniel Magdal, Ionuț Pascu, Horia Sandu, Carmen Gurban, Andrada Roșu, Octavian Vlaicu, Rodica Vică and Liviu Indricău.
The Academic Radio Choir conducted by Dan Mihai Goia will join in, too. The entire event is led by the Italian conductor David Crescenzi, a graduate of the "Gioachino Rossini" Conservatory of Pesaro whose thriving career is known both in Italy and Romania.
Moreover, the audience of the Radio Hall as well as that of the Orchestras and the Radio Choirs is quite familiar to the valuable pages of the lyric compositions presented at the beginning of each year.
