Special March Musical Gift: Tchaikovsky Gala under the Baton of Cristian Mandeal, with the National Youth Orchestra of Romania

Wednesday, 20 February 2013 , ora 8.02

The third spring day brings you a March musical gift, including several superlatives in an extraordinary concert: a programme fully dedicated to the most romantic composer of all times, as he may be regarded - Tchaikovsky - performed by the youngest, most surprising Romanian musical ensemble - the National Youth Orchestra of Romania, under the baton of one of the greatest Romanian conductors - Cristian Mandeal.

On Sunday, 3rd March, at the Tchaikovsky Gala hosted by the Radio Hall in the capital city, you will be able to listen to some of the most famous and beautiful works of the great Russian composer. The evening will open with the fantasy-overture Romeo and Juliet, a musical gem full of unmatched poetry, based on Shakespeare's popular play, followed by Lensky's aria in the Evgheni Oneghin work, in an innovative transcription for cello, and the 1812 Overture, composed in memory of the battles in Russia upon Napoleon's invasion. The programme will also include Pezzo Capriccioso for Cello and Orchestra and the Italian Caprice, the latter being inspired by a trip Tchaikovsky took to Rome.

The concert will bring in front of the audience two praised artists both nationally and abroad, bond by a special father and son relationship: Marin and Ștefan Cazacu. The former is one of the greatest Romanian musicians, while the latter is a laureate of numerous national and international prizes, winner of the "Eurovision - Young Musicians" Grand Prize, presently a student of the National University of Music Bucharest, at Răzvan Suma's class.

Tickets available on www.bilete.ro, at the Romanian Post Offices signaled "Bilete.ro" and the Radio Hall Ticket Office.
