Concierto de Sol y Luna - the Second Performance during the 'Viva la Guitarra' Season

Wednesday, 20 February 2013 , ora 8.05

You are being invited at the Cervantes Institute on Wednesday, 27th February, 2013, for the second concert of the Viva la Guitarra series. The protagonists of the evening are Olivia Iancu and

Claudiu Lobonþ, who will offer you a "sun and moon concert", performing works signed by

Santiago de Murcia, Antonio Soler, Manuel de Falla, Joaquín Rodrigo.

The duet consisting of Olivia Iancu and Claudiu Lobonþ was created in 2007, when they graduated from the guitar department of the National University of Music Bucharest. Ever since, they have been holding numerous recitals, playing even the historical lute and theorbo and presenting various programmes ranging from old to contemporary music. The works performed are mainly their own transcriptions and arrangements.

The concert is part of the Viva la Guitarra extraordinary season, which aims to offer to the Romanian audience new opportunities to meet this endeared, 100% Spanish instrument, made, as

Nicolás María López wrote in an essay published in 1901, in the image and resemblance of the people's soul. The Viva la Guitarra season takes place from January to June, 2013, and is organized by the Kitarodia Cultural Association in partnership with the Cervantes Institute, with the support of the musical instruments factory HORA S.A. in Reghin.

The recital is held in the Auditorium hall of the Cervantes Institute of Bucharest (38 Queen Elizabeth Blvd.).

Free entrance, subject to availability. E-mail reservation at cult3buc@cervantes.es is recommended!
