Romanian Music Forum Awards

Monday, 18 February 2013 , ora 7.58

The most recent awards gala of the Romanian Music Forum was held at the Children's Comic Opera in Bucharest, on Friday, 15th February 2013, and was concluded with a recital of the "Preludiu" Chamber Choir. Of course, the ensemble conducted by Voicu Enăchescu, which celebrated four decades of activity last autumn, was among the laureates of the 13th edition of the above-mentioned awards that annually reward important personalities and events related to the Romanian music. Smaranda Oțeanu-Bunea, founder and manager of the Children's Comic Opera, told us about the acquirements of these thirteen editions of the Romanian Music Forum Awards, created in the year 2000:

"The Romanian Music Forum is an opinion and attitude authority, consisting of musical personalities extremely bound to the lyric stage - music critics, musicologists, scenographers, conductors, soloists. For thirteen years now, we have been offering awards and have been thinking of the most important last year's achievements: events, young soloist debuts, extraordinary productions. We bring forward what's best, according to both the audience's endorsement and the specialists' opinions. We have always remained true."

Among this year's laureats, there were the composer Dan Dediu, the pianist Ilinca Dumitrescu, the conductors Tiberiu Soare and Ciprian Teodorașcu, the Ballet Ensemble of the Children's Comic Opera and the "Preludiu" Chamber Choir. Together with Smaranda Oțeanu-Bunea, they were introduced by Costin Popa, the editor-in-chief of the Melos magazine, and Grigore Constantinescu, the president of the "Mihail Jora" Union of Music Critics, who revealed to us the criteria upon which the prized artists have been chosen:

"We took into consideration last year's achievements, on one side, and what each laureate's personality encompasses, on the other side. The second criterion is represented by the desire to salute several event planners, for the management skills they have showed. Last, but not least, we also speak of careers, the pianist Ilinca Dumitrescu and the "Preludiu" Chamber Choir, conducted by Voicu Enăchescu, being this year's choices. There are both immortal and momentary choices, yet all of them worthy."
