Radio Romania Culture Awards

The 12th edition of the Radio Romania Culture Gala took place at the Odeon Theatre, on Monday, 18th March, at 19:00 with Vlad Ivanov as the evening's host.

At the gala there were awarded five special awards:

The Excelence Award given to the writer Șerban Foarță;

The Lux Mundi Award given to director Andrei Șerban;

The Remembering Iosif Sava Award given to the tenor Bogdan Mihai;

The Award for Cultural Projectsgiven to Arcub, the City Hall Cultural Projects Center;

The Radio Romania 85 Award- to the Gaudeamus International Book Fair-- for the Educational Book;

Awards given in the following categories:

The Poetry Award given to Dan Sociu for the volume Naïve and Sentimental Poems published by the 'Cartea Romaneasca' Publishing House;

The Prose Award given to Florina Ilis, for the volume Parallel Lives published by the Publishing House Cartea Romaneasca;

The Film Award given to the movie Beyond the Hills by Cristian Mungiu;

The Theatre Award given to Ion Caramitru, the General Manager of the 'Ion Luca Caragiale' National Theatre in Bucharest for the Caragiale Year events;

The Arts Award given to painter Gheorghe Anghel;

The Music Awardgiven to conductor Tiberiu Soare;

The Education Award given to the 'Grigore Antipa' National Museum of Natural History; The Science Award given to Ph.D. (Physics) Nicolae Zamfir, General Director of the 'Horia Hulubei' National Institute of Physics and Nuclear Engineering.
