Sinaia, Romania, 13th May, 2013: The Peleș Castle Museum announces the inauguration of the temporary exhibit 'Queen Marie's Dream Houses - The Balchik Palace', part of this year's Night of Museums festivities - Saturday, 18th May.
The exhibit will feature the coffer which holds Queen Marie's heart, built by Pierre Henri Émile Froment-Meurice using gold plated silver, enamel, diamonds, emeralds and rubies. Over one hundred other pieces from The Peleș Castle Museum will complete it, creating the period interiors of the royal residence of Balchik.
A catalogue with more than 130 pages is also part of the exhibit. This limited release brings forward, in details, all aspects of the palace complex from Balchik, and also features a photo album with photographs, from the museum's archive, which have never been published before.
'Queen Marie's Dream Houses - The Balchik Palace' is open to the audience from 18th May until 18th August, 2013.
