Conductor Florin Totan returns to Pitești Philharmonic

Pitești Philharmonic organizes on Thursday, 27th February, from 07:00 PM, at the Multifunctional Center, a symphonic concert: Haydn versus Mozart, with scores signed by the two great composers. Conductor Florin Totan rejoins the symphonic orchestra of Pitești`s Philharmonic. In the program: Joseph Haydn - Symphony no. 100 in G major, Military, and Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart - Symphony no. 39 in E flat major.

Born in a family of musicians, Florin Totan studies conducting art in Bucharest, at the Academy of Music, later improving himself through masterclasses with Sergiu Celibidache in Munich and Mainz, F. Ferrara in Siena and R. Schumacher in Berlin and Paris. He wins many international contests in this field in Austria and Germany.

He takes concert tours in France, Italy, England, Germany, Spain, Portugal, Israel, Austria, Belgium, Switzerland, Finland, Mexico, Egypt, Ecuador, Turkey, USA, conducting famous orchestras. He takes part in international festivals from Paris, Avignon, Bergamo et al. Since January 2000 he has been the permanent conductor of the symphonic orchestra of Râmnicu Vâlcea`s Philharmonic "Ion Dumitrescu". He was also present at the Pitești Philharmonic in past seasons, receiving appreciation from the public, and from the symphonic orchestra.
