Daniel Jinga presented today the team with which he will lead the Bucharest National Opera

Daniel Jinga today appointed the conductor Tiberiu Soare as Artistic Director and Alin Gheorghiu as ballet artistic advisor.

Tiberiu Soare is a graduate of two of the faculties of the University of Music in Bucharest: the Faculty of Musical Interpretation, the Instrumental Section (Tuba), the class of Assoc. Ion Popescu (Bachelor's Degree obtained in 2000) and the Faculty of Composition and Musical Pedagogy, Orchestra Conducting Department, class of professors Ludovic Bacs and Assoc. Dr. Petru Andriesei (Bachelor's Degree obtained in 2001). In 2018 he obtained the title of Doctor of Music at the National University of Music in Bucharest with the work "Lyrical tragedy Oedipus by George Enescu, A conductor's perspective", supervisor: Prof. Univ. Dr. Dan Dediu. He is currently Assoc. Dr. of the National University of Music Bucharest, Faculty of Composition, Musicology and Music Pedagogy, within the Department of Conducting, Religious Music and Complementary Instruments.

He has been the conductor of the Bucharest National Opera since 2004, and in the period 2007-2008 he was the initiator and Coordinator of the Experimental Opera and Ballet Studio "Ludovic Spiess" within the Bucharest National Opera. Since 2004 and until now he is the conductor of the "Profil" New Music Ensemble in Bucharest, and from 2007 until now he is a permanent collaborator of the "Calea Victoriei" Foundation. In this capacity he has given several interactive lectures on musical topics. Their content was summarized in two volumes: "Why do we go to the Opera?" (Civil Society Gala Award 2014) and "Nine Musical Stories" (2016). In May 2018, the Royal House of Romania awarded Tiberiu Soare the distinction "Order of the Romanian Crown in the Rank of Officer". Tiberiu Soare frequently collaborates with the main Symphony Orchestras and Opera Theaters in Romania. Internationally, the artist's activity has consisted of collaborations with numerous prestigious ensembles, such as: London Philharmonic Orchestra, Kammer Ensemble N (Stockholm), Musica Vitae Chamber Orchestra (Sweden), Osaka Chamber Symphony Orchestra (Japan), Bad-Reichenhaller Orchester (Germany), Athens Philharmonic Orchestra, "Bedrich Smetana" Philharmonic Orchestra (Zlin, Czech Republic), Prague Radio Orchestra, Sofia Philharmonic Orchestra, Chisinau Chamber Orchestra, Maria Biesu National Opera and Ballet Theater (Chisinau), Salzburg Chamber , Beirut Symphony Orchestra (Lebanon), Izmir State Symphony Orchestra (Turkey).

Alin Gheorghiu graduated in 1992 from the "George Enescu" High School of Choreography in Bucharest, and in 2001 he graduated from the National University of Theater and Cinematography "I. L. Caragiale ", Choreography Department. In 1998 he obtained a two-month scholarship in Rome (Italy).

He studied with the masters Oleg Danovski, Ioan Tugearu, Peter Breuer, Valeri Kovtun, Mihaela Atanasiu, Gheorghe Cotovelea, Ștefan Bănică, Adrian Gheorghiu, George Bodnarciuc, Gheorghe Iancu, Sergiu Ștefanski, Alexa Mezincescu, Constantin Marinescu, Gelu Barbu, Gabriel Popescu.

He has been the first ballet soloist of the Bucharest National Opera since 1993 and is currently the ballet master of the Bucharest National Opera. Between 2002 and 2005 he was a soloist at the Landestheater Salzburg (Austria), returning in 2007 to the Bucharest National Opera as first soloist. Between 2011 and 2013 he was Head of the Ballet Department and, subsequently, in the period 2013-2014, Head of the Ballet Entertainment Service. He was the coordinator of the ballet at the "Ion Dacian" National Operetta and Musical Theater between 2018-2020.

He has been invited to numerous festivals, including the Udine Ballet Festival (Italy), 1998; La Baule Ballet Festival (France), 1991; at the Vigniale Festival (Italy), 1995 and danced in several national and international ballet galas.

The audience and the artistic team of the Bucharest National Opera wish them strength of work and inspiration to find the most creative solutions for carrying out the artistic activity in this atypical period that the performance institutions are going through.
