Delvon Lamarr Organ Trio –the album 'I Told You So' - Jazzy hour, April 6th, 2021

Today, we are back to the music specially designed to convey a good feeling, with smooth sounds and challenging balance, so-called "feel good music", which is an art that is almost lost among the pride of musicians and marketing ambitions. We mainly refer to a magnetic artistic happening, with growing success, which contains all the ingredients of this irrezistible genre. Delvon Lamarr Organ Trio, aka DLO3, found the perfect proportions of the sound of the 1960s Hammond organ, in the style of Jimmy Smith, or Baby Face Willette, the soul-bluse of Booker T, the funk from The Meters and the jazz felt in improvisation and ease, for a soul-jazz that activates the mind, warms the heart and moves the body. Delvon Lamarr is a self-taught virtuoso, with absolut hearing who has mastered the language of jazz and can express it on several instruments. It is joined by guitarist Jimmy James, who combines Steve Cropper and Grant Green on the same guitar, and by drummer Dan Weiss, the key to the well defined and explosive sound coming from the unmistakable Hammond organ. Founded by Lamarr's wife, the trio has evolved quite rapidly, moving from obscure clubs to sold-out halls, in only five years. The 2021 album called "I told you so" was sold-out in just a few weeks, including the vinyl version. With such a sound, with such a groove, with such plays, Delvon Lamarr success is perfectly justified.
