RRM in Iași- Interview with Irina Florian, the director of the“Octav Băncilă“Arts High school in Iași

Saturday, 1 October 2022 , ora 14.19

Miss Irina Florian, Radio România Muzical-the only classical music radio station in Romania-will start broadcasting in Iași. As the director of the "Octav Băncilă" Arts High school in Iași, how did you receive this news?

Oh, it's good news, great even! Iasi, our and whole artistic community, and not only, really deserves this news. A local radio station of Radio România Muzical in Iași can only be a reason of joy for all of us. I do think so!

You've been involved for many years in the project"Listen to classical music for 5 minutes" - a Radio România Muzical initiative that takes place on a national level. What convinced you to join this project and what do you think are the benefits of this project for schools?

It's a wonderful project initiated by Radio România Muzical. We were contacted through Mrs. Comandașu and, later on through the Ministry. We thought then and we think now that it is a project that needs to go on. It promotes quality music, it promotes very good artists, it is aimed at the whole society, not only at kids. I know that, at a certain point, this project will reach even the markets. What could be better than hearing music that brings us all a good mood.

How do you think the broadcast of Radio România Muzical will influence the culture of Iași?

It will definitely have a positive influence! The cultural institutions of the Iasi city, of the Iasicounty, the "Moldova" Philharmonic Orchestra, The Romanian National Opera, the "Luceafărul" Theater, the Athenaeum, the National Art University and, last but not least, the National Highschool of Arts are institutions where the artistic act manifests in all its forms and I think it will be well received by the whole community.

I wish you all "vivat, crescat, floreat!" Bloom, live well and grow beautifully. I'm sure you'll make beautiful shows, you'll have a lot to promote. Iasi is a strong cultural center and we deserve to be known at a regional and, why not, even national level.
