The National Stradivarius Tour
Tuesday, 25 May 2010 , 19.00

The National Stradivarius Tour already sounds very familiar; ’again Alexandru Tomescu, the man with the famous violin and the pianist he plays with, Horia Mihail’, are most probably the first words you would utter when hearing about this tour. Using the enthusiasm they stirred and the success they had at the first edition of the tour, in 2008, the musicians decided the second tour should have a reason: it was dedicated to raising funds for blind people. Now, in 2010, Alexandru Tomescu and Horia Mihail have placed an equally noble reason on the header of all eleven recitals in the country: they want everybody to be able to hear, starting with children – the funds raised this time are for deaf children in Romania.

The third edition of the National Stradivarius Tour has started on May 4th in Bacău, continued in Onești, Baia Mare and Bistrița, between other towns and it will end on Tuesday, May 25th in the ’Mihail Jora’ Studio of Radio Romania.

You are invited to go and listen to violonist Alexandru Tomescu and pianist Horia Mihail in the hall – if you can not make it, you can listen to it on Radio Romania Music, in the live broadcast of the recital. Tuesday, May 25th, from 19.00.
