The Radio Chamber Orchestra - Live broadcast
Wednesday, 2 June 2010 , 19.00

The Radio Chamber Orchestra will be waiting for its audience yet again this Wednesday in the ‘Mihail Jora’ concert studio– at the premises of the Romanian Radio Corporation. This time, Cristian Brâncuși will be conducting the orchestra.

The musical evening will open with a work signed by Felix Mendelssohn – Op. 114, Concert Piece in D minor for clarinet, basset-horn, and piano – a creation which the German composer wrote and dedicated to his good friends, Heinrich Joseph Baermann and his son, Carl Baermann. Today, this Romanticist score will be interpreted by two soloists who are also father and son: Anton Hollich and Patrick Hollich, who have been invited over from Germany.

The programme also features the Clarinet and Piano Concerto No. 2 in E flat major by Carl Maria von Weber and the fantasy-opera The Snow Queen by composer Liana Alexandra. This last work is introduced along with the participation of the Radio Children’s Choir – prepared by Voicu Popescu, soprano Alda Macri, mezzo-soprano Andreea Iftimescu and organist Florin Chiriacescu. The Snow Queen is returning as one of the concerts of the Radio Hall after having been performed for the first time in 1980 in the same place as a concert.

So let me invite you to listen to this diverse musical programme from 19.00 either as a spectator in the Radio Hall or as a listener of Radio Romania Music.
