Radio Chamber Orchestra - live broadcast
Wednesday, 9 March 2011 , 19.00

'Allan R. Scott had in mind to bring the music to people, and this is just a matter of time, should music be as contaminated as he is.'

This is one of the appraisals the young American conductor Allan R. Scott - the one who is conducting the Radio Chamber Orchestra tonight - is rejoicing over.

Within the concert scheduled at 19:00, the audience will be able to listen to works seldom performed on Romanian stages, like the Hebrides Overture or Fingal's Cave by Felix Mendelssohn-Bartholdy, Piano Concerto No. 1 in C major, op. 15 and Symphony No. 2 in D major, op. 36 by Ludwig van Beethoven.

Conductor Allan R. Scott

… is one of the most dynamic young musicians in North America. Interested both in symphonies and opera, he is best known for his vision and innovations brought into musical programmes, for his ability of maximizing the effort of involved musicians and for his skills of obtaining events of undoubtful quality.

Since 2003, Allan R. Scott has been the music manager of the orchestra and the choir both united under the name Helena Symphony Orchestra (Montana). Due to his initiatives, in a brief period of time, he succeeded in augmenting the audience with over 400% and to triple the annual budget. Every summer, with this orchestra, he conducted the program 'Symphony under the Stars', which drew more than 15,000 people.

Scott conducted scores of premieres, performed in front of the audience various symphonic editions, among which his favourite are Mahler's Symphonies, which he will close with Symphony No. 8 in 2012.

Pianist Horia Maxim

… will be stage partner of Chamber Radio Orchestra in this concert.

Seen as one of the best pianists of his generation, Horia Maxim is a musician whose constant presence on the concert halls' stages represents one of the most important references about his artistic talent.

Working together with most of the symphonic orchestras in Romania, Horia Maxim has played under the baton of prestigious conductors like Emil Simon, Ilarion Ionescu Galați, Emanuel Elenescu or Petre Sbârcea. He was also partner of important Romanian and foreign performers - Ion Bogdan Ștefănescu, Johnny Răducanu, Richard Galliano, Mario Caroli and others.
