The Guitar International Festival
Wednesday, 23 March 2011 , 19.00

The fascinating guitar has influenced every generation, has been played in every genre and music style and has left its mark on our personal biography and experience. However, there are scores which have become classical hits and one of these is Joaquín Rodrigo's Concierto de Aranjuez.

Soloist of the evening - Ana Vidovic

The performance within the Guitar International Festival not only features this beautiful score but also one of the most famous guitar lovers, namely Ana Vidovic, a young musician who has been awarded at numerous prestigious competitions and whose recordings were also broadcast by Radio Romania Music. The great success as well as the concerts and recitals through the years (yes, the number is shocking given the musician's age!) have all become part of her life ever since childhood. She was born in November 1980, started studying guitar at the age of five and gave her first concert at eight. At eleven she had already participated in many international competitions and at thirteen she was accepted at the Zagreb Conservatory, being the youngest student! Then, Ana Vidovic studied in the US where she participated and won several prestigious guitar competitions.

Guitar & more

The choices the conductor of the evening Dan Rațiu has made bring into the foreground a work of his father, Adrian Rațiu, a distinguished composer and professor, as well as one of the least performed symphonies by Franz Schubert.

Tune in to find more details from the artists themselves through the interviews we will broadcast during the break!
