On Friday, March 25th at 19:00, Dan Grigore returns to the stage of the Radio Concert Hall, accompanied by the National Radio Orchestra. Under the baton of conductor Jin Wang he will perform the Piano Concerto by Paul Constantinescu, which he also performed in Montpellier, France, in the fall of 2010.

After that, the audience will have the chance to listen to Brahms' Symphony No. 2 in F major Op. 90 conducted by Jin Wang.

Dan Grigore - one of the great Romanian pianists

'Knight of the Order of Arts and Letters' Dan Grigore studied at Rimsky-Korsakov St Petersburg State Conservatory (1962-1964) and at the Bucharest National University of Music (1962 - 1966). Afterwards he was accorded the Herder Scholarship at the Vienna Academy of Music at the recommendation of Professor Mihail Jora.

During his career he held concerts and recitals in the most important venues in the world: Tonhalle-Zürich, Great Hall of Moscow Tchaikovsky Conservatory and Tchaikovsky Concert Hall of the Moscow Philharmonic Society , Grand Hall of St Petersburg Philharmonia, Rudolfinum Palace in Prague, Queen Elisabeth Hall in Antwerp, UNESCO Palace of Paris, CSBO/Birmingham, National Auditorium of Music in Madrid, Gran Palau de la Música Catalana - Barcelona, Gasteig - München, Schauspielhaus - Berlin, Bunka Kaikan and Casals Hall in Tokyo, Chopin Hall - Jerusalem etc.

Since 1990 he has been invited to perform - be it for the National Day or for other official events - in collaboration with the Romanian Embassies in Italy, The Holy See, Poland, Thailand, Belgium, Switzerland, and the USA (where for the last two years he has also been holding concerts in commemoration of September 11 victims).

He has made radio and TV recordings in Romania, Belgium, Japan, China, Russia, Hungary, Germany, France.

Conductor Jin Wang, a name familiar to Romanian music lovers

Jin Wang is an artist who can boast over 600 concerts held with several acclaimed European orchestras: the Radio Symphony Orchestras of Copenhagen, the Royal Stockholm Philharmonic Orchestra, the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra; the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra, the Arturo Toscanini Philharmonic Orchestra (Italy), the Prague Symphony Orchestra, the Philharmonic Orchestras of Helsinki, Bergen, and Stockholm, as well as the National Orchestras of Taiwan, China, Singapore, Korea, Japan etc.

Having followed conducting master classes at the Conservatory of Beijing, he went on to study at Vienna Music Academy under reputed Professors Österreicher and Leopold Hager. He also benefited from advice of maestros Leonard Bernstein and Zubin Mehta.

The concerts and opera productions conducted by Jin Wang have always triggered enthusiastic reactions from uncommonly large audiences, from fellow musicians and from specialized journalists alike. He is also a composer - his Suites Impressions from Tibet and the more recent Nokia Variations, Würzburg Night-watchman, New Year Hymn, Song from the Roof of the World have been well received by European audience and not only.
