Gabriel Croitoru and Guarneri, the famous violin that belonged to the famous composer George Enescu, together with the Radio Chamber Orchestra will be performing in a concert full of brilliance and vitality at the Radio Hall on Wednesday, the 11th of May.

The event will take place under the lively baton of Cristian Brâncuși, and will include renowned works such as: Symphony No. 22 in E flat major by Joseph Haydn, Concerto No. 5 in A major for Violin and Orchestra by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, and Symphony No. 5 in B flat major by Franz Schubert.

Gabriel Croitoru studied at the George Enescu Music Highschool in Bucharest (1983), graduated from the National University of Music (1987), and was awarded a Ph.D. in music at the National University of Music in Bucharest (2006). His talent and impeccable training have enabled him to participate in different competitions, both national and international, receiving the first prize at the National Festival 'Cântarea României', at the Henryk Wieniawski Violin Competition in 1979 (Lublin, Poland), at the Pablo Sarasate Violin Competition in 1991 (Pamplona, Spain), and at the Zino Francescatti Violin Competition in 1987 (Aix-en-Provence, France).

The artist's more than one thousand performances on stages of not only all the Romanian Philharmonics but also on concert stages throughout the entire world stood the test of time. Gabriel Croitoru's exquisite virtuosity put its mark on the record library of the Romanian Radio Broadcasting Society between 1987 and 2008. He has staged concerts in France, Spain, Germany, Belgium, the Netherlands, Italy, the Czech Republic, China, Bulgaria, the USA, former USSR countries, Hungary, and Romania.

The year 2008 was the year Gabriel Croitoru earned the right to play a violin with 'historical personality', and that belonged to George Enescu, and was built by the famous violin maker Giuseppe Guarneri in 1730.

Conductor Cristian Brâncuși graduated from the National University of Music in Bucharest, the orchestral conducting and composition department, and is member of the Union of Romanian Composers and Musicologists. At present, Cristian Brâncuși is the conductor and founding member of the Radio Chamber Orchestra.

His talent is internationally acknowledged as well: he has held conferences and masters' degrees within and outside Romania, and participated in tours across Europe, the USA, and Asia.
