When he received the Stradivarius Elder-Voicu in 2007, Alexandru Tomescu promised that 'during these five years, I will bring the Stradivarius in front of a most numerous Romanian audience, for they are the righteous owners of this instrument which is in fact part of the national patrimony.' The fourth Stradivarius Tour taking place this year is the fulfilment of this very promise.

'Paganini - Angel or Demon?' - this is what Alexandru Tomescu invites music lovers to listen to, namely the complete Caprices by Paganini, the most challenging collection of musical works ever written for violin. The 24 Caprices performance will include video projections to enhance the atmosphere as well as to describe the terrible diseases the composer was suffering at the time.

The 2011 Stradivarius will take place between May 5^th and 29^th in fourteen Romanian cities. After the concert at the Radio Concert Hall, Alexandru Tomescu will perform in Cluj Napoca, Sibiu, Mediaş, Dumbrăveni, Târgu Mureş and Baia Mare.

The recital to be held on May 19th 2011 will be broadcast live on Radio Romania Music and Radio Romania Cultural as well as online on the web pages of the two radio stations. The concert will be recorded by TVR Cultural and broadcast later on.

Alexandru Tomescu will perform 'Paganini - Angel or Demon' again on June 5^th starting 19:00 at the Radio Concert Hall.
