National Radio Orchestra - live broadcast
Friday, 14 October 2011 , 19.00

"One day, when I was finishing the last pages of L'Oiseau de Feu in St.Petersburg, I had a fleeting vision which came to me as a complete surprise, my mind at the moment being full of other things. I saw in imagination a solemn pagan rite, sage elders, seated in a circle, watched a young girl: dance herself to death. They were sacrificing her to propitiate the god of spring. Such was the theme of the Sacre du Printemps." (Igor Stravinski - Chronicle of my life).

Le sacre du printemps also represents the highlight of the new season of the National Radio Orchestra that is starting on Friday, the 14th of October 2011, at 19.00, at the Radio Concert Hall. The programme will include Mondes Impossibles by Irinel Anghel, the Violin Concerto in F minor by Aleksandr Glazunov and Le Sacre du printemps by Igor Stravinski.
